THE WAIT IS OVER – SK1 STREET PARTIES ARE BACK…
The long-awaited return of our now legendary street parties is over. Last year's event was wild, but unfortunately, it was well over-subscribed, which led to the event being put on hiatus until we figured out how best to keep the party going.
We’ve been working hard all winter to secure a way to keep these fantastic events happening, which has meant making the decision to move the event to the end of the road and up onto the Mersey Way Shopping Centre car park. YES.. A PARTY IN THE CAR PARK!
To kick things off at our new car park venue we see the return of Aficionado dons Jason Boardman & Moonboots; delivering summer-enducing baleraic beats with support from well-established local maverick Psychederek.
With the full support and help from the folks at Stockport Council we’re excited to deliver a summer of top programming.
About the artists:
Now 27 years of age, the left-leaning underground Manchester Club event Aficionado returns to Stockport to bring some serious heat to the SK. Aficionado heads Jason Boardman & Moonboots are the perfect selectors for our inaugural party at our new spot above the Merseyway. Do you have fond memories of dancing in the rain on Little Underbank in August 2023? We do and that's why they're here. The DJ duo have been defining the sound of balearic beat for over 35 years, way before it was a cool thing to do. Expect multi-genre and tempo goodness from Ambient to Acid, touching on all decades of dance music.
Joining them this evening is hip young gunslinger & dancefloor maverick - Psychederek who's been dusting up the ethereal underground with his baggy cover versions and psychedelic disco trips.
About the venue:
The event takes place on the 2nd level of the Mersey Way Shopping Centre Car Park, inside the amazingly designed mid-century structure. Inside they'll be a fully licensed can bar by our shop neighbors The Spinn Off and multiple food stalls in the open-air area. Seating areas will be provided throughout the whole venue space.
Access to the event space is via the staircase from Great Underbank (at the side of Primark where the public toilets are) or across the bridge from Petersgate (down 1 level via the staircase).

Soft drinks & non-alcoholic options will also be available, including a FREE water station.

Event information:
This is a ticketed-only 18+ event. Strictly no entry without a ticket. The venue is cashless.
This event is strictly 18+ - we reserve the right to turn anyone away who can't prove their age. Challenge 25 will be in operation during the event.
Security/ bag checks will be in operation upon arrival as NO ALCOHOL is allowed to be brought into the event. Any alcohol found during security searches will be confiscated and disposed of. Amnesty bins will be in operation at the entrance.
Anyone found to be in possession of any illegal substances will be removed from the event immediately and refused re-entry.
Toilet facilities are available on site via the public toilets at the bottom of the stairs. These facilities are available privately to anyone attending the event. Simply display your provided event wristband to security to gain access.
No alcohol is allowed out of the event space, even if leaving to use the bathroom facilities. A table will be provided by the entrance/ exit for attendees to leave their drinks while using the facilities. This table is unmanned and owners leave their drinks at their own risk.
Smoking and vaping is only permitted in the open-air portion of the venue. Please use the provided sand buckets to dispose of cigarettes. Anyone found to be repeatedly breaking these rules will be asked to leave without exception.
In the event of an emergency please contact the nearest security personnel and make them aware of your situation. Medics are on site throughout the entirety of the event should they be required.
